Cleansers For Textured Skin
I'm not a dermatologist or a professional in skincare. If you're experiencing a medical condition, please consult a professional. This post is mainly for those who have no major skin conditions and want to try out new products and looking for product suggestions and review.
Hey there! How have you been ?
Recently I was dealing with really textured skin. I tried using scrubs more than once a week and oil cleansing. Well, oil cleansing worked a little but one method alone will not change up your skin.
A clear skin is achieved as a result of a combination of products and techniques/ methods. So I decided to switch up my skincare routine. I became more mindful of the ingredients in my products.

I was specifically looking for cleansers with AHAs and BHAs.
What are they??
AHA stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acids and BHA stands for beta hydroxy. I’m not going to in depth about what they are. If you’re interested, you can read about them here.
AHAs and BHAs are nothing but chemical exfoliators. They are way more gentle on the skin than physical exfoliators like scrubs.
A lot of skincare products, especially the ones for acne prone skins have these.
The Plum cleanser has glycolic acid, which is an AHA, and the Kaya cleanser has salicylic acid, which is a BHA. If you’re new to skincare, these terms might be scary and overwhelming. Don’t worry; they are completely safe and beneficial for you skin. You can read more about these face acids here – click here.
In short, salicylic acid is a chemical exfoliator. It reduces acne, blackheads sun damage, age spots and exfoliates your skin without damaging your skins natural barrier. I’ve explained in this video as to why physical exfoliators are bad for your skin.
Glycolic acid is derived from sugar cane. It is also a chemical exfoliator. It helps to reduce acne, hyperpigmentation, and signs of ageing and exfoliates the skin.
I use the Kaya face wash once a week as its deep cleanser. It’s meant for combination and Oily skin. Since I have combination skin, once a week does well for me. I also use this when I have to remove heavy makeup.
I use the Plum face wash on a daily basis. It is really gentle and does a really good job in cleansing my skin.
Both of these products are cruelty free. Plum is vegan and Kaya is vegetarian. Together, they work wonders on my skin. This isn’t a sponsored post. This is my honest opinion.
My skin is in its best condition. My skin no longer has any bumps and texture. Occasionally I get a bump or two. My skin feels fresh and clean after washing my face unlike my experience with most cleansers.
I have also seen a good improvement in my hyperpigmentation around my mouth. I wouldn’t say it was all because of these 2 cleansers. I’ve been doing other things as well. But the cleansers did help for sure.
If you’re looking to switch up your skincare products and want to try some good cleansers, I highly recommend these 2 cleansers.
You can buy Kaya Purifying Cleanser With Salicylic Acid here- Nykaa Store.

That’s it for today. I tried to keep it as short and informative as possible. Do let me know your thoughts. I love hearing from you guys.
