Biotique vs Other Brands

Did you know that majority of your favorite skincare brands still test on animals? Dropping shampoo into innocent rabbit's eyes, applying makeup on shaven helpless lab rat's bare skin are still prevalent to this day!!!

Well the good news is that there are many beauty brands with a BIG heart that choose NOT to test on animals. [Biotique is one among them]

I know it's not easy to use ONLY cruelty free products due to lack of awareness, difficulty in finding them and some are also expensive. To make your life easier, I have decided to do a series of cruelty-free fashion/ beauty posts.

Its's time to tap into the humanity which most of us have lost.

Thank you for your attention :) have a wonderful day.

  • sulphate free

  • no preservatives

  • affordable price

  • no chemicals

  • 100% ayurvedic

  • no animal testing

  • healthier and safer

  • trustable

  • suitable if you want healthy skin/ hair in the long run

other brands

  • non-organic

  • contains harmful chemicals

  • contains preservatives

  • contains parabens [ therefore increased risk of cancer ]

  • tests on innocent animals

  • may contain animal products

  • suitable only if u want an illusion of healthy skin

  • dries out the skin/ hair, not suitable for healthy skin in a long run

Why should you prefer organic skincare and hair care products to non-organic?

You absorb more toxins from skincare and hair care products than food.

Doesn't sound convincing?

Well, when we consume food, there are a lot of enzymes present inside our body which identifies and breaks down the harmful toxins and chemicals consumed and flushes it out of the body.

But unfortunately our skin and hair do not have the ability to break down these harmful toxins and thus all the toxins are absorbed directly into your bloodstream.

The only way our skin reacts to these harmful toxins is by breaking out, allergic reactions, redness, irritation, etc.

A lot of non-organic skincare products contain mineral oil which does not allow your skin to breathe or absorb nutrients.

The reason why non-organic skincare/ hair care/ cosmetics contain harmful ingredients like polyethylene glycol, mineral oil, paraben, perfumes, artificial colours, etc is to reduce the the price of the product, increase the shelf life, make it smell and look pleasing and give an illusion of smooth skin temporarily.

What's the point of investing on cheaper products, with the motive of saving money and ending up spending it on your doctor's visit due to the adverse affect of the harmful toxins present in your skincare/ hair care/ cosmetics ? Makes no sense right?

Instead it is better to invest more on good quality products and hence saving money by NOT visiting your doctor often.

Benifits of using paraben free cosmetics and skincare

In order to extend the extend the shelf life of products, companies usually include parabens in their ingredients of their products disguised in the form of 'preservatives'.

Parabens kill microorganisms thus preventing the spoilage of the product for a certain period of time and thus keeping you happy and satisfied.

But little do you know that parabens not only kills microorganisms but also slowly kills YOU.

From cancer to beat cancer to testicular cancer, the harms are many.

Basically parabens mimic the activity of estrogen [it is a hormone] in the body cells, which is directly linked to breast cancer.

Benefits of sulphate-free shampoos

What are sulphates? Sulphates are the reason what causes your shampoos [surfactant based shampoos] lather and foam up. Sulphates are also used in detergents, emulsifiers and other foaming agents.

The main job of sulphates is to remove oil and water, which in one way is good for our hair because it helps in cleaning and removing excess oil from the scalp and the hair.

The downside is that it also removes the scalp's natural oil and hence, leaving the hair dry and brittle.

Sulphates also cause irritation to sensitive scalps by causing redness, itching and dryness.

Some of the common type of sulphates are:

  • Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES)

  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS)

  • Parabens

  • Sodium Chloride

  • Polyethylene Glycols (PEG)

  • Diethanolamine (DEA)

  • Triethanolamine (TEA)

  • Formaldehyde

  • Alcohol

  • Synthetic Fragrances

  • Synthetic Colors

  • Dimethicone

  • Cocamidopropyl Betaine

  • Triclosan

  • Retinyl Palmitate

I know it can be difficult to completely shift to using ONLY organic and cruelty free products but we need to at least try to minimize the use of such products as much as possible. By doing so, you are not only saving yourself from harmful diseases but also a thousand innocent animals lives.

Shifting to organic skincare, haircare and cosmetics has multiple benefits as stated earlier. If the cost of the organic products is the main hurdle for you, then Biotique is the best solution.

Biotique sells organic skincare and haircare products which are NOT animal tested and free of preservatives. They are very affordable and easily available.

So what are you waiting for?
