Hi my beautiful!
Hope you are safe and doing good. Today I'll be reviewing Aroma Magic's mineral glow scrub. I recently bought this scrub and I have mixed opinions on it. I don't absolutely hate or love it. Do let me know you're opinion if you have tried this scrub.
Recently I have been doing a lot of research on skincare. I have learnt that physical scrubs are not necessarily beneficial for your skin. It can be abrasive and might damage your skin barrier. It mostly depends on what type of scrubs you use. Scrubs like walnut scrubs can be too harsh on your skin while sugar scrubs are comparatively gentle.
To start of, I would like to say that I really like Aroma Magic's approach to skincare. Their brand is clean, natural and cruelty free. They do not use harsh chemicals, alcohol, parabens, phthalates, sulphates, artificial colouring and fragrance.
However, didn't find the scrub gentle enough. The scrub contains natural exfoliators of cornflower and grain almond meal.
A lot of are in this delusion that anything that is natural is safe for you skin. Well, that's absolutely incorrect. There are certain natural ingredients that can harm your skin. This is why it is important to read the ingredient list before purchasing any product.
This scrub also contains 3 essential oils. If you're following my blog's instagram, you'll already know why.
Essential oils are not safe for your skin, It can cause long term damage and irritation. Essential oils are mostly fragrant ingredients. Though some essential oils may have the potential to nourish your skin, they can still irritate your skin.
Paula's Choice Skincare says :
You can find research showing that certain amounts (such as 0.1%) of these oils are non-irritating, but this research doesn’t take into account the fact that lots of skincare products contain more than one essential oil, or far more than 0.1%. It also misses that some people use multiple fragranced skincare products, which adds up to a higher risk of irritation than what research has shown is acceptable.
Aroma Magic's mineral glow scrub contains no fragrance BUT they contain 3 essential oils namely, tea tree oil, rose and lavender oil.
The scrub however, contains some really good ingredients like beeswax and glycerin that can benefit the skin.
I personally only use this scrub once in a while to gently scrub my ONLY my T-zones.
However, since I don't like wasting the products I buy, I use this scrub on my body, especially my hands, elbows, knees and feet.
Honestly, if they had marketed the product as a body scrub, I would have really loved it. It does an amazing job in exfoliating my dry elbows and knees. My skin feels really soft and smooth after using it. I just wouldn't use it on my face, other than my T-zone.
I would love to hear your opinion on Aroma Magic mineral glow scrub. You can DM or tag me on Instagram.
