Easy Ways To Permanently Get Rid Of Dark Circles Fast

What are dark circles?

Dark circles are nothing but dis-coloration of the sensitive skin under the eyes, sometimes accompanied with baggy eyes, which makes a person look older than he/she actually is.

Dark circles are definitely not attractive and make the person look sick, older and tired.

What causes them

1.Fatigue: when you’re extremely stressed or exhausted, you either don’t get enough sleep or you tend to oversleep. Both lack of sleep and oversleeping causes dark circles by puffing up your face, making your skin dull and pale.

2. Age: As we age, the skin around our eyes becomes very delicate and baggy causing dark circles. In most cases, the skin starts becoming translucent, thus making the blood vessels clearly visible.

3.Eye strain: Stuffy nose or itchy eyes enlarge the blood vessels around the eyes, causing dark skin around the yes.

4.Allergies: Allergies triggers the production of chemicals called histamines, which causes the blood vessels to swell up.

5.Dehydration: lack of water consumption leads to drying of the skin and shrinkage of the skin cells. Dehydration makes the skin transparent, hence enhancing the dark circles.

6.Sun exposure: When the skin is exposed to sun, it produces more melanin [a pigment that gives our skin color], which results in dark skin. As the skin under the eyes is more sensitive than the rest of the skin, it is affected faster, hence resulting in dark circles.

7.Genetics: you might be having dark circles due to hereditary reasons. The downside of hereditary dark circles is that it cannot be prevented. This is more common among people with more melanin [darker skin tone]. Sometimes there is extra production of melanin under the eyes causing dark circles.

8.Irritation due to makeup: Sometimes the ingredients contained in the makeup causes irritation and allergic reactions. Most companies use harmful chemicals in their products, discounting the health and safety of the customers. So we need to be very careful about which products we choose to put on our delicate skin.

9.Lack of sleep: Puffiness in the face and strained eyes are the common results of lack of sleep. A puffy face enhances the dark circles in your face and strained eyes causes the blood vessels to swell up, causing dark circles.

10.Stress: Stress leads to disturbed sleeping pattern and hence causing dark circles. When you are stressed, the skin on your face turns pale which enhances the dark skin around your eyes.

11.Nutritional deficiency: lack of iron [carries oxygen to the skin cells], vitamin B12, vitamin K [anti-coagulant, strengthen blood vessels], vitamin E [anti-ageing, reduces wrinkles], vitamin A and vitamin C [keeps the skin youthful, moisturized and fresh] can also lead to dark circles.

12.Anemia: Anemia means lack of red blood cells / hemoglobin/iron in the body, which means lack of oxygen to the skin. This causes the skin to look pale due to lack of blood flow and oxygen, hence enhancing the dark circles.

How to prevent dark circles?

1.SPF: always remember to protect your skin from the sun by wearing sunscreen religiously.

2.Vitamins: Take your vitamins regularly and eat vitamin rich food like green leafy vegetables and citrus fruits.

3.Moisturize you skin: never forget to moisturize your skin on a daily basis. Dry skin causes wrinkles and discoloration of the skin.

4.Get the right amount of sleep: Sleep is very important. It is recommended to get a minimum of 6-7 hours of sleep everyday.

5.De-stress: Try to reduce stress as much as possible. Meditation, exercise, listening to music, ASMR videos, a short walk and massage are some of the ways you can de-stress.

6.Organic makeup/ skincare: To avoid allergic reaction and irritation, try avoiding products with a lot of chemicals in it and gradually shift to using organic products. Organic products are a lot safer and reduce the chances of allergies.

7.Stay hydrated: It is very important to stay hydrated as water keeps the skin moisturized and healthy. It also reduces the puffiness of the face.

8.Reduce the time you spend in front of the screen: TV, mobile phones and computers strain our eyes causing the blood vessels under the eyes to swell up. Allow you eyes to relax by taking a short nap or taking a long walk in the nature.
